What is our government like?

We have a democratic government, but it doesn't work quite the same as in the UK. Local government can be made up of any mix of parties as the three main positions are elected by the people - Mayor, Councillor and Secretary.

Government is corrupt and only the richest get into government. We overthrow our government regularly when we don't like what they are doing. This happened to the last government - March 2005.

We now have a left-wing government - the first in many years. Our president was elected in November 2006 and is called Rafael Correa.
