What do wear?

We wear whatever we want! But our girls are very fashion conscious and however poor we are we like to look good. we wear tight fitting clothes mostly and accessorise with jewelry, shoes & belts so that our outfit coordinates well.

Men tend to wear jeans and a T-shirt.

In Santo Domingo, the Colorados wear bright stripey skirts (for women) and black and white striped skirts (for men) and traditionally nothing else on top, but women now tend to wear a blouse. The men also colour their hair red.

We also paint black stripes around our bodies - this is to ward off evil spirits and provide protection.
