REACH Romania
News (29 October 2003)
Dear friends - Brothers and Sisters,
The weather broadcast during the cold season in Romania is something like this: "We'll have cold weather all over the country, with lower temperatures in the NE part of the country!" And they are usually right! This year the winter started unusually early - we had the first snow a week ago and it's very cold for this time of the year!
But, of course, the weather will not stop us from doing the things we are involved in - things that will hopefully advance the Kingdom of God in Romania and not only!
We started both teaching programs in Suceava - the Bible school classes and Institute classes - with good attendance. Also, last weekend we had Wiley and Helen Perry from Texas opening the new year of school at our extension in Dumbrava - Bistrita, and this coming weekend I'll go with bro. Wiley to the other extension in Iasi area. Bro. Marcel will go to Bistrita for his first course there this year. So - school is going on full speed!
Pray for the people involved - to stay interested in a world where everyone is interested in material things - and also, we need more teachers and helpers to keep it all going.
The Church is going well, we are at the stage where we try to put some mor structure to the enthusiasm and vision that we started with. But we continue with our meetings - Sunday morning church services and Sunday evening prayer time. And we had a very special service, on Oct. 19. Some of our young people were really touched by the Lord this summer - after the evangelistic meetings with Bro. Walter Kronberg and at the camps - and 5 of them decided to be water baptized, along with a lady from Valea Bourei - one of the villages where we do evangelism (Dan Sorodoc team leader). For Gramesc family it was a very special day - as 2 of the 6 who got baptized are family members! Nati and Gabi, our oldest and second sons, were there in white clothes testifying their faith in God!!! It is wonderful - and we are thankful to the Lord, He is the One who did it!! Both of them started attending the bible school, also! Praise the lord! Pray for all of them to be able to stand against the temptations of the world and serve the Lord all their lives!
The evangelism in the villages continues - and more people are interested in knowing the Lord. Our people who work there bring people from the village to our church, every once in a while, to give them an idea of how things happen here and to know us. There is a new group of people in a village in Botosani district, whose leader comes to our Institute classes, and they also try to be here at least for the Sunday when we have communion. we want to help and assist them in the future, even sending some of our people to help them. Pray for these villages and for more workers willing to go there.
Also - we continue the relationships we develop with the children and teenagers from the children homes. We visit them, they stop by our place, some come to church services - pray that the Seed we plant and water will grow and mature, with the help of the Lord.
We continue to receive good reports after the Youth Camp - young people who decided to follow the Lord and were water baptized (Codlea - not far from the place where the camp was), a group of young people, more than 20, who went home and started a prayer time, once a week, that still continues (Timisoara), people who gave their life to the Lord for the very first time and were changed and transformed! Thank the Lord with us for His goodness!
Pray with us for guidance and clarity concerning the building we need at the camp site, in Voronet. The first architect we contacted at the beginning of this year didn't do anything, and now it looks like we found a real one - and soon we'll meet to find out a price evaluation for what we are supposed to do. Pray with us - we certainly need it, but we want to do only what is right in the eyes of the Lord.
Thank you again for being such a help for us - in prayer and in other ways!
May the Lord bless you and reward you as only He knows!
Blessings,
Suceava Team
