REACH Romania

Summer Camp - July 2007

Dear Friends and Partners,

The camp started on Friday night, July 13, with rain and relatively cold weather, for the month of July. But in spite of it, more than 450 people came, pitched their tents in the camping area we rented, about 25 miles West of Suceava, and were part of 8 days of blessings! We only had 2 rainy days, the rest of them were extremely hot days – unusually hot for Romania.

We had many people attending for the first time – teams from Bucharest, Bacau, Timisoara and other locations – along with the ones who are there every summer! They all came for a good time in the Lord and fellowship with fellow believers – and we had it!

A day of camp starts with a time of prayer, at 7:30, then we have the morning service- 9- 12 am – then free time, an afternoon seminar (optional) from 4-6 pm, then the main service of the day – starting at 7 pm until it’s over! We had good messages, teaching and preaching, testimonies, praise and worship (which has become the common language of all the campers, no matter what church they come from), drama presentations and different individuals singing and sharing. Though it sounds like very much, the time under the tent seems short – and no one was complaining about the length of services! Actually, we had to turn off the generator at midnight, in order for them to go to their tents!

One of the interesting things of this year, compared with last summers: the camp is growing, in quality and maturity of the campers! Last years, a lot of time was spent with personal ministry and prayer for needs – now there were not so many who needed that type of ministry, and the main focus was on praising and worshipping Jesus! And it was wonderful – though sometimes wild, as they sang, clapped, shouted and jumped before the Lord! Also, we had several people from other cities helping with the organizational part of the camp (night watch, sport events).

Many areas of interest were touched – the Kingdom of God, the renewing of the mind, sexual purity, the need for spiritual fathers (an excellent night with repentance on our knees and restored relationships), teaching on spiritual authority, seminars with men/women only, Holy Spirit seminar. Many testified salvations, healing of emotions, deliverances, baptisms in the Holy Spirit, new commitment – all of which made us rejoice in the Lord! Personally, I was blessed again to see them leave in good health and walking into a new dimension of their spiritual lives! It is wonderful to see King Jesus blessing His people, and to be able to be part of it!

We sent the tent to a town close to Ukrainian border, where it will be used for 3 days of evangelistic meetings, then it will go to the Western part of the country, for a 4 day prayer retreat. May the Lord be glorified through all these!

Thank you again for praying for the camp – we are in it together!
